I just found you by serendipity. Good stuff. Better to swim in the ocean than to merely study it. much love.

A water bearer in India had 2 large pots, each hung on the end of a pole which he carried across his shoulders. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect & always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master's house. The cracked pot only arrived half full.
For a full 2 years this went on daily with the bearer delivering one & a half pots of water to his master's house.Of course the perfect pot was fond of his accomplishements, perfect to the end for which it was made.
The poor cracked pot, however, was ashamed of its own imperfection & was miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.
After 2 years of what it perceived as bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day as it was carried along the street." I am ashamed of myself & I want to apologise to you."
"why?" asked the bearer."What are you ashamed of?"
"I have been able for these last 2 years, to deliver only half of my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master's house> Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work & you don't get full value from your effort", the pot said.
The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot & in his compassion said,"As we return to to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path."
Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path & this cheered it up.But at the end of the trail it still felt bad because it had leaked out half of its load. Again, the pot apologised to the bearer for its failure.
The bearer said to the pot,"Did you notice that there were flowers on your side of the path but not on the other side? That's because I have always known about your flaw & I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path & every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For 2 years I have been able to pick these flowers to decorate my master's table.Without your being just the way you are,he would not have had this beauty to grace his house."

Jesus is bigger and way trancends any borders or boundaries anyone tries to impose upon Him. May the glory of His awesome name go out to everyone regardless of race, creed, or smallness of their thinking.

Jonathan and Jennifer, I'm on my 2nd read through the book. It came at the right time. I began reading it 2 days before I was asked to start a house church in my new city. Though I've been in house church before, you challenged me anew, and refreshed my desire for a pure expression of church and an unfettered and entirely alive relationship with the Lord and His people. It's a must-read/must-pray-through experience for any seeking a grass-roots return to life in God. It left me as the Bible does, wanting to see between the lines as to what really went on and asking the Holy Spirit for greater insight and revelation.

i love this. I was thinking about this the other day. Christ breathes through our cultures and it might appear very odd to some people around the globe. There are many cultures I don't understand but Christ loves to breathe through them. I'm in Sri Lanka you have your ways of doing things and they make perfect sense in Him: we in the UK have our ways, which appear odd to the Americans and I sure find the Americans odd at times but that's OK; He's in control

this is a great poem and i've been meditating through these kinds of images as of late. Images to do with the sea: I'm in a transition time of my life and i'm about to entre new things.
Have you ever heard of the song by Bruce Cockburn 'All the Diamonds'? it's all about being cast out to sea and being led on.
